ELEVEN major road schemes costing £17m., and 12 others each costing under £500,000, have been submitted for approval to the Minister of Transport by the town planning committee of London County Council. The large schemes include a proposal to extend Western Avenue from Westway to Walmer Road, at an expenditure of £3m., and to improve Gardiner's Corner, Stepney, at a cost of £1.3m.
An underpass for the Strand is also suggested.
