The PPG factory at Thorney near Peterborough continues to manufacture the class-Leading aluminium SmoothLine Insulated body. Recently, together with a major customer it has developed a lighter weight specification while retaining the strength needed for key areas of wear. The PPG air-operated split-tail door is now available with lever controlled tar hatches. PPG has also developed a detachable tail-door clamping system which can be used during hatch tipping, to ensure workforce safety.
Exhaustive and extreme testing of the integrity of the product was witnessed by health and safety officers of the customer and full approval has been given. PPG continues to offer all types of rigid aluminium tipper bodies and manufactures all types, including bath-tub designs.
In addition we also offer a drop-in repair service and can normally carry out repairs while the customer waits to minimises downtime and reduce customer costs.
