Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FAILING TO produce tachograph charts and two hours offences have cost a Cheshire driver £1,070 in fines and costs.

Richard Knight pleaded guilty before the Llangefni,Isle of Anglesey, magistrates to failing to produce a record, exceeding 10 hours driving in a day and taking insufficient daily rest. Senior traffic examiner Simon Jenkins said that on 21 January Knight's 44-tonne artic was stopped

in a check on the A55 at East Bryngwran on Anglesey. When asked to produce his tachograph records Knight was only able to produce the chart in the tachograph and one for the previous day.

Since starting his journey the previous day Knight had an accumulated daily driving period of 11hr 2min; the maximum daily rest he could have taken in the 24-hour period was 61ir 10min.lhe magistrates fined Knight £1,000 with £70 costs.

SOMETHING TO HIDE

The court was clearly concerned about the road safety implications of the hours offences and the fact that the missing chart might have concealed other offences.
