1111P rally presence
• Trans-Action has been called on to condemn publicly the presence of British National Party members at the nationwide demonstrations against the fuel duty escalator last month.
BNP leafleters, whose party views current UK society as "a multi-racial experiment threatening the biological extinction of white nationalists", were present at the demonstrations in Plymouth, Manchester and London.
Brighton driver Huhn' Webb says the presence of the BHP on the protest marches could hurt a movement which has helped to unite hauliers up and down the country. "I have not heard Frank Stears condemn the BNP presence yet," she says. "These social misfits could damage our campaign."
Frank Stears says he does not share the EINP's political views, and is surprised the leaders were not hit by drivers on the day. "That would be our normal reaction," he says.
But he adds that any legal movement, from Labour to the Jehovah's Witnesses, can attend the next demonstration. "Our campaign is about one issue," he says. "I have net commented on the BHP because I do not want to give them publicity."
