Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• More than 1,200 drivers working for Christian Salvesen-owned Swift have rejected a 2.5% wage offer.

About 900 drivers voted against the offer, which also included a new medical termination payment of about £3,000.

The Transport & General Workers Union expects negotiations with the company to begin again shortly.

T&G national officer Ron Webb says that in the climate of driver shortages Swift employees felt that an offer just above inflation was insufficient.

"The expectation of our members is that drivers should be valued more highly," he says.
