• Conglomerate Harrisons & Crosfield is inviting tenders for the purchase of 1.000 replacement trucks ranging from 7.5 to 38-tonners from all major truck suppliers, in a move to central purchasing that is expected to secure "significant savings" for H&C.
The supply of vehicles will be phased over several years. The exact timing will depend on the cheapness of the winning tender.
The final deal could involve one or several manufacturers.
