Retractable electric cables

RETRACTABLE, spiral-type electric cables jacketed with du Pont neoprene synthetic rubber are now being marketed in this country. They are extendible to double their retracted length and suitable for the electric connections between tractors and trailers.

The cables will spring back to their original length and are proof against fatigue. Marketed by: Intertruck Ltd., Alloa, Scotland.

Kit form conveyor

WELLRUN conveyor equipment, designed for industrial uses, is available in kit form; it has a capacity of 100 lb. per unit and can be employed for heavy as well as light duties. Each unit comprises a moulded nylon roller or set of wheels mounted on a flame-hardened spindle and fitted to a cadmiumplated steel clamp. The basic units can be made up into gravity conveyors, live storage racks, transfer tables or specialpurpose handling equipment.

Truck-mounted cranes

TN collaboration with the Grove Manufacturing Co., of America,

John Allen and Sons (Oxford) Ltd. have introduced a range of Grove truck-mounted cranes which are now being produced in this country. All models are equipped with hydraulically operated telescopic booms and are mounted on Allen heavy-duty cranecarrier chassis.

The Allen-Grove H-2264 model has a lifting capacity of 22 tons and the basic 26 ft. cantilever boom can be extended under power to 80 ft., a fly jib having a length of 20 ft. The H-1264 model has a lifting capacity of 12 tons and features a 26 ft. basic boom which can be extended to 60 ft. A 20 ft. fly jib is also available. Screen-wiper control unit

ADEVICE designed to provide controlled periods of screenwiper action, called the Spasmo, is being produced by BRM Electronics Ltd. It is fully transitorized and designed to be wired into the existing wiper circuit so that when required it can be brought into operation at the touch of a switch. The control will operate the wipers in.ermittently at about 10-second intervals when weather conditions do not warrant the wipers working continuously.
