Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TWO new three-wheel commercial vehicles—a 5 cwt. van for the home market and a 7 cwt. pick-up for export—have been introduced by The Reliant Motor Co. Ltd. Except for minor modifications such as revised gear ratios the new chassis are mechanically identical to the previous Reliant designs and whilst the 5 cwt. has a

6 ft. 6 in. wheelbase and an overall length of 11 ft. 3 in. the pick-up has a wheelbase of 7 ft. 2 in. and an overall length of 11 ft. 9 in.

The 5 cwt. van is called the Supervan and has a right-hand drive. It is essentially a restyled version of the Regal 3/25 van which is to be phased out of production. A new

front and rear design, a re-styled facia and completely re-designed interior distinguish the Supervan from its predecessor and it is priced at £396 10s. A wide-opening single rear door gives access to the 50 cu. ft. of load space and power is provided by a Reliant 600 c.c. all-light-alloy petrol engine. The complete body is of reinforced plastics.

The new Reliant pick-up continues with the name Regal and it is specifically designed for export with left-hand drive; orders have already been received from Greece. Depending on the market concerned, the ex-works price is expected to be close to that of the Supervan. Load capacity is 7 cwt. and the mechanical specification is the same as that of the Supervan.

Variable mounting points on the chassis provide for the simple bolting on of various types of bodies but the first models are being produced with a conventional timber platform, fixed sides and a drop tailboard.

It is planned that left-hand drive versions of the 5 cwt. van and right-hand drive versions of the pick-up will eventually be produced.
