• BP Oil, Royal Mail and Ford have joined forces to evaluate the performance of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) on a fleet of Transit vans.
The two-year project will gather emissions and performance figures to assess the economics and practicalities of operating CNG and LPG vehicles.
Nine LPG-powered Transits and 12 CNG-powered Transits are being run from the Royal Mail's sorting centre in South London. The LPG vehicles use three different versions of the technology while the CNG vehicles use four.
