to Nissan's premises in Sunderland after complaints were made about LGV drivers' behaviour.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria police said it had "received a report of inconsiderate parking and antisocial behaviour by lorry drivers on the L,eechmere industrial estate" on Monday 3 June. Local news reports claimed that businesses on the estate have become fed up of lorries belonging to a Polish-based contractor, Luberda, blocking access.

Nissan said it was made aware of the disruption and it had asked the firm concerned "to resolve the situation as a matter of urgency': A spokesman added: "This company is working with one of our logistics contractors, so it's two down the chain from us. As I understand it, they are not parking there any more. They were explicitly told not to do so ever again."

Malcolm Dodds, Road Haulage Association regional area manager, said there had been problems in the past with vehicles parking on the estate. He said: "It was mainly due to Nissan's just-in-time deliveries. If they are on justin-time then they have to park somewhere."

The police spokeswoman added: "Police will be working with all those involved to try and address concerns."
