Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• More than 1,000 trucks will be travelling from all over the country to East Anglia at the end of the month to protest at recent rises in the price of diesel. Hauliers from as far afield as Liverpool have told the organisers of the event, which aims to bring the A14 near Cambridge to a standstill on Saturday 29 June, that they will be there in a bid to show the Government how they feel.

A special freephone number has been set up for anyone wanting more information on what will be the second protest. A spokesman for the organisers says: "The phone has not stopped ringing. The whole event is snowballing—it's going to be huge. Hauliers have just had enough and feel this is the only thing they can do." One operator, when told by a customer that he did not want his trailers to appear at a demonstration, is reported to have told him to "stick the contract" as he wasn't making any money out of it anyway.

More than 40 vehicles gathered for the last protest on the Bank Holiday Monday (27 May). Next week's staging is the result of many operators complaining that nothing has changed since then and wanting a further opportunity to protest, say the organisers.
