Unseasonal gales whipped the exhibition tent so much that those inside must have felt they were rounding the horn in a tea clipper under full sail. In fact RHA staff kept having to give out soothing assurances over the PA system that the marquee was designed to withstand blasts of up to 100mph and was quite safe.
However, the Hawk's men on the spot couldn't help but notice that the RHA team had wisely positioned their paraphenalia within easy bolting distance of the emergency exit.
