STEADY GROWTH

• Founded in Cambridge in 1 909 by the late D. G. Marshall M.B.E.. father of the present Chairman and grandfather of the present Deputy Chairman and Managing Director. the Company has enjoyed a happy and developing association with the Austin Motor Company since it sold its first Austin car in 1 913. In the intervening years it has built up a tremendous expertise in the handling of Austin cars and light vans, B.M.C. trucks, Guy trucks and Scammell trailers.

THE OPERATOR'S SPECTACLES

• The Operator in need of new or additional trucks will find a knowledgeable and helpful staff, fully skilled in all the problems including' those arising out of the plating and licensing regulations. Indeed the Company with its Associates is itself a major fleet user and knows the Operator's viewpoint. Seminars have been held at all Marshall Main depots at which commercial vehicle Operators, representatives from the Ministry of Transport. the Road Haulage Association, and the vehicle manufacturers have met to discuss the problems caused by these regulations. The Company is in a position to be of real assistance to the Operator and carries large stocks of B.M.C. and Guy commercial vehicles. It offers rental and leasing facilities, and advice covering all aspects of commercial vehicle finance and operation. Furthermore, it is fully experienced in the supply of hundreds of vehicles to the largest fleets, and takes pride in the thoroughness of its pre-delivery check and after sales service.

A BODY FOR YOU

• The Company stands in the unique situation of having the backing of one of the largest body building works in the country. The Motor Bodies Division of Marshall of Cambridge has solved the problems of many small and large fleet Operators, ranging from the supply of . simple high top fibre-glass roof extensions on light vans to complicated mobile workshops and ISO containers, and in regard to the latter were the first in the country to obtain Lloyds approval. Full use is made of the aircraft stressing and testing facilities, and it is able to recommend and build bodies designed to Meet the Operators special requirements using the most effective combination of traditional and modern materials.

PROGRESSIVE SERVICE AND TRAINING

• The success of the sales operation is supported by a high standard of service and maintenance and a comprehensive range of parts stock. The Company's Cambridge depot was one of the first to be appointed as a B.M.C. "Freightline" Distributor. The Company has devised many tailor-made servicing schemes for operation on a regular contract basis to meet the varying difficulties facing vehicle users. These can include regular evening or weekend maintenance on either a mileage or time basis, or complete plating and licensing checks, and the Servicing Department takes particular pride in its record of completing the job on time. The Company's expert accident repair sections recognise the need to reduce "off-the-road" time to a minimum and have an excellent record. Marshall's also believe in training and keeping up to date, and every year staff attend both training and refresher Courses to ensure that they are conversant with the very latest methods and techniques.

COMPUTERISED BACKING

• Marshall Parts Departments with their large and comprahensive stocks have been fully computerised for over 4 years and provide an indispensable backing to the Service Department. Its vans range throughout the eastern region of England and provide a regular delivery service to many Fleet Operators, Dealers and Traders. The youthful management team regularly attends courses of modern management methods and accounting techniques to ensure maximum efficiency and maximum benefit to the operator.
