There was a silver medal awaiting Lord Stokes when he attended the annual meeting of the Automobile Association last week. It was in recognition of British Leyland's development of the gas turbine engine for road use, and the presentation to the BLMC chairman was made by Viscount de Lisle and Dudley. AA vice-president.
This award is made to the person or corporate body who, in the opinion of the AA committee, made a significant contribution to the safety, comfort, economy, enjoyment or utility of motoring in Great Britain during the year.
