whether to set up Passenger Transport Authorities in Scotland, said Mr. William Ross, the Scottish Secretary in the Commons last week. As part of the process of consultation, the Minister of State had promised to meet representatives of Glasgow Corporation to discuss with them the implications for the Corporation, as the only municipal transport operator in the Greater Glasgovc area, of any PTA which might be set up there.
A preliminary list of applicants for the post of director-general of Merseyside PTA was drawn up by the Authority at a meeting in Liverpool on Wednesday. The next meeting takes place on July 1 when further consideration will be given to the appointment.
