A new catalogue is to hand from 'Brown Bros., Ltd., of Gt. Eastern Street, E.C. This production deals more particularly with the detailed parts relating to motor chassis and components. Our readers will find a range of heavy vehicle lamps illustrated, which fitments arc designed to use both acetylene and oil.

A Fine Gauge Grinding Machine.

From Chas. Churchill and Co., Ltd., we have

received a beaniifully got-up booklet., dealing par ticularly with the Churchill grinders. Of recent years, and especially with the introduction of interchangeable parts, the grinding. machine has at last come into its own. It is now indispensable for the production of accurate and interchangeable work. Recognizing this fact, Churchill's, Ltd., has produced a machine worthy of a place, on its own merits, in the finest engineering shops of the country. It is not enough, however, to produce a machine and send it out from the works without detailed instructions. Accordingly, the booklet under notice has been prepared, and practically every question of difficulty which may arise when using the grinding machine has been anticipated and met.. The half-tone blocks which illustrate the machine are clear, as will be seen by the block which we reproduce. Although Churchill's naturally intend the production to be used by owners and operators of the Churchill machine, of such general interest is it, that, in all probability, the booklet will be read with interest, and the information given fully utilized, by users of other makes of machines.

We have also received a general tool catalogue from this firm. Tins production almost fills 60 pages, and deals with a comprehensive muff; of workshop requirements. The catalogue is well illustrated with half-tone and clear line drawings. The opening pages deal with the high-power machines, comprising milling machines, lathes, gear-cutting machines, and drills. The later part of the catalogue is devoted to the smaller workshop requirements. So carefully has this publication been prepared that it is an easy matter at once to find any required object of search, and the text is found directly under, or by the side of, the object searched for. The Churchill concern has been founded almost '60 years. and is well-known in all parts of the world. Dealing with Solid Band Tires.

Appreciative letters regarding the running of Mama band tires on a mileage basis from many of the leading users in the country has led Thoma Tyres to feel the fullest confidence in their productions. A 10,000-mile guarantee is given with the tires, and for the convenience of customers journey slips and mileage record books are supplied. The tires range in size from 65 mm. to 160 mm.

Steam v. Petrol Again.

Leyland Motors, Ltd., have prepared a wellillustrated booklet dealing generally with their steam and petrol wagons. A short chassis description is given with each article illustrated, together with the code words for ordering renewals and replacements by wire. A good range of both steam and petrol wagons being put to various uses is shown. The reproductions in colour are admirable, and give the catalogue that air of distinction which seems to characterize the Leyland wagon on the road.

A "Stitch in Time" Concern.

An interesting booklet reaches us from Weldings Ltd., a concern which, as the name implies, deals with the repairing of engine fitments and accessories. This firm ea.n, when required, turn out repairs machined and finished ready for assembling. Practically all the component parts which go to make up the modern motorvan or wagon can be successfully doctored by Weldings Ltd. Interesting half-tone photographs of spur-wheels, dog clutches, back-axles, cylinders, crankcases and shafts, are displayed to advantage in the booklet.
