• Daf's impending 45/55 replacement, currently being readied for production with a cab developed jointly with Renault, has broken cover.
An eagle-eyed Commercial Motor reader snapped this partially disguised 7.5-tonner, running on trade plates, taking a breather in the back streets of Manchester recently.
The doors, wheelarches, step and screen surround are virtually identical to Renault's Midium, although the Daf version of the cab has gained a set of air-intake slots in the screen header.
