• Two operational vehicles belonging to Skipton haulier John Gill have been suspended for six months by North Eastern Licensing Authority Frederick Whalley. The LA also indicated that he proposed to impose environmental conditions, in renewing the 15-vehicle licence for one year.
He has given Gill 14 days in which to make written representations about the effect of the conditions on the future of his business.
Evidence was given at a Leeds public inquiry about the imposition of a series of prohibition notices on Gill's vehicles, and that his maintenance records were not being properly completed, despite three previous warning letters.
