• Telehoist has followed up its Tele tender mini fire engine with a larger, emergency rescue version. It uses the same GMC 4x4 chassis with a 6.2-litre yee-eight diesel and three-speed auto gearbox, but has a two-seater steel cab and moulded GRP body.
Aluminium roller shutters on the sides and rear give access to extendable trays which can each carry 250kg of equipment. Standard fittings include a 110v power supply, five-tonne winch and halogen floodlighting.
Other specialist vehicles from Telehoist include aerial platforms for airline use: several have been built recently for British Airways for aircraft washing, servicing and maintenance.
