PERKINS wants voluntary redundancies at the former Rolls-Royce diesel engine Shrewsbury factory.
The news comes only a fortnight after the firm announced a Om order for the engines for a big Ministry of Defence contract for armoured personnel vehicles, to be made at the nearby GKN Sankey factory at Telford.
