EIvICO of Margate, Kent has produced a new man lid for petroleum tankers. It has a new pressure, vacuum breathing vent that seals automatically on roll-over, and Uses a brass domed valve and a viton seal.
A dash pot-type anti-surge device located centrally prevents the immediate surge of spray but allows pressure relief in emergency conditions.
The rim seal, also of viton, locates behind the inner plate and is more readily replaced than the previous design.
