Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

still under, wraps FIAT IS to enter a joint venture with the American Rockwell Corporation to produce commercial vehicle components.

Talks between the two companies are at an early stage and no details are available yet. But it is thought likely that the venture, if it goes ahead, will be established somewhere in Europe rather than America, and would involve IVECO, which is 80 per cent Fiat-owned.

Both Fiat and the giant Rockwell Corporation would obviously hope to benefit from the enormous economies of scale and rationalisation that such co-operation would lead to. Fiat has denied that the deal would entail the Rockwell Corporation taking a share in IVECO.

Fiat in Great Britain was not able to comment on the proposed link-up, and said it was a matter for the Fiat headquarters in Turin.
