AN Elm-PLUS ORDER has been won by dump truck manufacturer Haulamatic of Heanor, Derbyshire.

It comes from the Ministry of Defence, which has ordered 42 Haulamatic on/off highway dump trucks for the Army. The vehicles are Haulamatic 615s with suitable modifications for military use such as long-range fuel tanks and other classified changes.

The 615 can carry a 16,6tonne payload, and with the optional tailgate has a heaped capacity of 12cum. It has an all-welded high-tensile steel tipper body raised by twin hydraulic rams. Body thickness is lOmm for the b tom, 6.3mm for the front E 4.8mm for the sides. Unlac weight is 10.1 tonnes.

It is powered by a Perk V8.540 engine, developi 180bhp at 2600rpm drivi through an Allison fu automatic gearbox.
