while the driver was asleep in the cab at 10.50pm on 12 January.
The incident occurred on an industrial estate off of Stirling Way, Bretton in Peterborough. The driver was awoken by a security guard who also put out the fire in his trailer.
A Cambridgeshire police spokeswoman says: "We are treating this as arson; it was an attempt to endanger a life.
"Any witnesses who may have seen the truck in the moments leading up to the blaze should contact us immediately," she says. Contact: Cambridgeshire police on 0845 456564
