TA believe?
Glyn Samuel, new chairman of the Transport Association, wants to do something effective to boost the public image of this body of influential, senior, road hauliers.
' There are many answers to this problem. The TA could expose itself to the Press in its private discussions; its corporate voice should emerge more
frequently in published statements of its policies on contentious issues; the relationship of TA members to other trade associations should be spelt out .. .
I suspect that some members of the TA would like the Association to be better known, while others are happy, even proud, to hide their lights under a bushel. If, of course, there is no comprehensible corporate view to express the TA will continue to be seen as a mysterious group of self-satisfied, prosperous hauliers, taking in each other's washing — if the laundry rates are good enough!
