ELLS FARGO might well rovide a better public transrt service than the Scottish us Group does, says Fife Re.on.
Now the council, who hand ver around a million pounds a ear to the bus company, want meeting with the group to emand an improved service. Councillor Alan McLure, finance convener, said: "No other body would get away with offering the service which the bus operators do. If the present operators cannot provide a decent public service then they should stand aside and let someone who is prepared to do so, do it."
He told a meeting of the region's basic services corn mittee that his constituency (Glenrothes) might be as well reverting to Wells Fargo to see if they could do better.
A spokesman for the company, Alexanders (Fife), said: "The remarks made by Councillor McLure have come right out of the blue. We would be only too happy to have a meeting with this committee."
