Tables of Operating Costs the cost of operating a 7-ton tipper 1,000 miles a week is £83 9s. To this basic amount then has to be added the additional running cost for the extra 200 miles which at 14.99d, a mile results in a total addition of £12 10s. on this account.
Assessing wages at £20 a week would result in a second addition of E7 fis., so giving an overall total of £103 5s. when this tipper was averaging 1,200 miles a week. This amount is, however, the estimated cost to the operator, to which overhead costs and profit margin still have to be added before a charge can be submitted.
