FORTHCOMING meetings of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers are as follows:—February 6, lecture on bearings by P. P. Love, B.Sc. (Hons.), Institution of Shipbuilders, Glasgow, 7.30 p.m.; February 16, open meeting, Hotel Metropole, Leeds, 7 p.m.; lecture on transmission systems by E. Everest, M.Sc., Royal Society of Arts, London, W.C., 6.30 p.m.; February 21, lecture on springing by D. G. Hobson, A.M.1.1Mech.E., Vane Arms Hotel, Stockton-on-Tees, 7 p.m.; February 22, lecture on the application of gas turbines to commercial vehicles by J. Hodge, M.A., Engineers Club, Manchester, 7 p.m.; February 24, Mr. Everest's lecture, Crown Inn, Birmingham, 7 p.m.
The Institute's annual tour will be from May 7-12, visiting works and operators in Scotland. The annual dance will take place on September 25 at the Connaught Rooms, London, WC.. and the fifth annual general meeting at the Royal Society of Arts on October 4.
