Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Interest in alternative-fuel vehicles has risen with the introduction of London's congestion charge.

With many alternative-fuel vehicles exempt from the 2.,5 tax. manufacturers say operator's are becoming more interested in the technology.

Iveco, which has a compressed natural gas (CNG) Daily van, says it currently has a number of its CNG vans out with companies for evaluation, while Westminster City Council has placed an order for 50 vans and Camden Council is to take 20.

Ken Moore, Iveco's technical specialist, says London's scheme is the first positive discrimination for alternative fuels, and he believes interest will grow as operators seek to avoid the 15 daily charge.

Foden, which recently launched a dual-fuel truck, behaves operators wishing to run in London at 44-tonnes will see its truck as a key option for avoiding the £5 charge. it says tipper operators, many of whom operate within the congestion charging zone, will be a key target group.
