About 180 staff at
Christian Salvesen's Livingston operations will move to Tibbett and Britten next month, following a decision by The Big Food Group to award a contract to T&B to create a Scottish distribution hub.
T&B will take over Salvesen's work, integrating chilled and ambient distribution to Booker branches and Iceland stores across Scotland. The Blg Food Group's frozen distribution contract will remain with an existing T&B Bellshill site.
An insider at Salvesen's depot says that Livingston staff have been told their Jobs are safe, but to expect an influx of people relocating from ether Tibbett sites. He adds that there are concerns that staff may lose their final salary pension schemes.
