Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Auction houses like CVA can make your truck look more appealing prior to the sale by giving it anything from a wash to a full valet. Equally, you could pay privately to have it suitably groomed.

"Having a tractor washed costs £12.50, while having it valeta Inside and out will set you back up to £45," Wright says.

"Stripping off vinyl lettering and logos that identify the owner costs £60-70 if you're talking about a box van, and £20 If it's a tractor?'

However, spending large sums of money on a vehicle prior to disposal can be a waste of time, he warns. "Getting rid of every single stone chip will cost you more than you will get back in terms of a better price," he contends.

No matter how you choose to dispose of your trucks, they will always fetch more if they're accompanied by a full service history and all the necessary paperwork. For example, if you try to sell a truck that needs taxing without its V5 registration document, the price will suffer. This is because the purchaser won't be able to tax it until he gets a replacement V5 from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, says Alexander. "That can take up to six weeks, and the buyer won't be able to use it in the meantime," be says.
