Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Volkswagen and the Transport and General Workers Union are talking this week to resolve a dispute involving 65 Axial drivers who have been on strike since 13 February. The industrial action was sparked by Volkswagen's decision to switch contractors, from Axial to East Cumbria Motors. The TGWU insists that ECM is in breach of TUPE rules and claims that 22 jobs would be lost as a result of the move. TUPE regulations guarantee wages and conditions when jobs are transferred to another contractor.

TGWU national officer Ron Webb says: "I would be surprised if the action continues too long—there should be some movement, either way, within the next couple of days."

In an earlier ballot on the strike 57 out of the 64 drivers voted in favour of industrial action.
