• Overseas orders are helping UK truck manufacturers to survive depressing domestic sales, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
During January 1992 commercial vehicle exports increased by 10.6% to 9,811, compared with 8,875 during the same time last year. By contrast CV output fell 10.7%, from 18,486 in January 1991 to 16,507 in January 1992.
