CM EDITOR lain Sherrfff helped the inquiry in its task last Friday when he was questioned on the basis of our long-established tables of operating costs.

The inquiry was keen to establish the basis for CM and other cost tables used by operators and organisations which have given evidence to the Inquiry. Representatives of the Freight Transport Association and Road Haulage Association were among the others present at this session.

Derek Wood told Mr Sherriff that such tables are held in high regard by the witnesses he has seen, and thanked him for the "sound, Caledonian advice" contained within the CM Tables of Operating Costs 1981-2.
