SAID to be Europe's first allseason steel radial truck tyre, the G124, developed over the past four years, is a recent addition to Goodyear's tyre range. it is made in six sizes.
Hexagonal block-tread elements were designed to give good grip on wet roads while the extra deep self-cleaning lugs are said to give good hill-climbing performance in deep snow.
The blocks, incorporating 480 blades, are claimed to deliver significant improvements in anti-skid performance on wet roads and icy surfaces.
The G134 has an open shoulder design designed to prevent aquaplaning says Goodyear.
Goodyear also says its high mileage results and good retreading potential make the G124 very cost effective for the
User.
Other design features include an extra deep flat tread, a wide belt in the tyre carcass, and a wide footprint.
The tyre has been evaluated over a claimed 27 million kilometres.
