Goods and passenger operators and their drivers must change to the new system of drivers' hours and records in just over a week's time, and there is still much confusion about the detailed limitations and exemptions. In the February 27 issue of CM we shall be publishing a simple, step-by-step guide to the new system, together with explanations of how to complete the new record books, and examples of the books that are now available.
Operators' licensing is now under way, and when the new licences take effect from March 1 other aspects will assume importance. In Know the Law next week, Les Oldridge will be detailing the objections procedure.
CM next week will also feature the building of Caetano coaches which are now becoming more numerous in Britain.
