• A specially adapted double-platform body on a Ford D800 chassis, fitted with a model 174 Hiab crane midway along its length is in use with Rentarc Ltd., Salford, welding plant hire specialist.
Previously Rentarc found difficulty in hoisting welding plant on to the rear of vehicles fitted with front-mounted cranes. Use of this
method resulted in machines having to be manhandled but, with the new body, plant can easily be positioned anywhere along the body by one man.
