Operating costs of coaches could double md lead to a considerable increase in the nice of trips, under the new regulations :ontrolling the working hours of p.s.v. irivers, warned Mr. George Steele of Wallace mold, chairman of the Yorkshire area of he Passenger Vehicles Operators Associaion, on Monday. Mr. Steele added that the regulations were being imposed from March I to reduce the risk of fatigue. "Coach drivers are not subject to fatigue anyway. There was absolutely no need for this legislation in respect of coach drivers. Restrictions on time at the wheel are already in force", he said.
