THE SCOTTISH TRANSPORGroup's next chairman is an in dustrialist, William Stevenson At present Master of the Mer chant Company of Edinburgh Mr Stevenson is an active mem ber of the Scottish Council (De velopment and Industry), anc has various commercial and in dustrial interests in the Unitec Kingdom and overseas. His part. time appointment runs from January 1, 1981, until December 31, 1983, and he replaces Lord Donnet of Balgay, whose background is in trades unions.
Ribble Motor Services' new chief engineer is Clive Bryant, Trent chief engineer since 1975. He entered the bus industry with Red and White, and joined senior training with the Tilling Group before it was merged into National Bus in 1968. He succeeds Sidney Lamb, who has begun a two-year consultancy project for the 7,000-bus Sri Lanka Central Transport Board, for NBC Consultancy Services.
London Transport's drive for greater productivity is marked by the appointment of Martin Fuggles as productivity projects manager for LT buses.
At the National Freight Company, Michael Sweet becomes corporate planning director, having acted in that role since January 1980.
P&O Roadtanks Group company Robert Armstrong (Transport) Ltd has a new board member. He is Derek Cookson, general manager of the wine haulage company, who was previously engaged in stockbroking.
