SCOTLAND: M8. Two-way traffic on eastbound carriageway for one and-a-half miles west of St James interchange, Paisley.

Northern England: Ml. Both carriageways reduced to one lane fo three quarters of a mile at Tinsley Viaduct, South Yorkshire.

M6: Two-way flow on one carriageway south of junction 40 (A6( to Penrith).

Wales and the West: A31/35. Work starts shortly on the Bore Regi; by-pass between the top of Sitterton Hill and Town's End. It is due tf be completed by June 1982.

A55: East and westbound traffic split at Old Colwyn due to traffii island construction. Extra care is needed.

M4: The London-bound carriageway restaurant is closed untl May 1981, but drivers can still gain access to the westbound restau rant if they use the footbridge.

M5: Lane closures in both directions between junctions 2 (Weston-super-Mare) and 26 (Wellington/Taunton). Southbound ex from junction 26 is closed.

Penzance: Ross Swing Bridge is being rebuilt between now an April, and drivers are urged to use Market Jew Street route as a alternative.

South-east England: Al. There are occasional lane closure: mostly at weekends, between now and March due to rebuilding ( Rowley Lane flyover on the Barnet by-pass.

A2: A contra-flow system is in operation on both carriageway near the Dartford Tunnel/Swanley (M25) exit, due to repair work; Extensive delays are likely to last until December 22.

A23: There are reduced carriageway widths at Purley Way Croydon Road, Waddon junction, and at Purley Way/Mitcham Roa roundabout.

M2: The London-bound carriageway is closed between junctions and 6. Two-way traffic on the coastbound side.

Ireland: Major roadworks at Bachelor's Walk, Dublin, will result diversions until May. There is at least one lane in use at all times Bachelor's Walk and Ormond Quay, and the traffic flow in Lifff Street Lower has been reversed.

International: All lorries using the Grand St Bernard Tunn between Switzerland and Italy will need snow chains until April 3 Otherwise, they may be refused entry.

The Customs post between Hungary and Austria at Sepron/Klin enbach is closed to goods vehicles until April 30.
