IN THE House of Lords, Lord Houghton of Sowerby asked Her Majesty's Government "whether traffic congestion and pollution are taken into account in British Tourist Authority and departmental claims about the benefits of tourism to the economy."
In the Commons, I. M. Nutteigh (Lab, Pigstye E), who has little sympathy with the monarchy, asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether Black Rod was used to clear the royal drains and, if so, how much the Queen was charged for the service.
