Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

An electronic tester which can also be used for checking the condition of various electrical components has been announced by AVL Instrumentation. Its 855B electronic compression tester is claimed to have the facility checking the working condition of the battery, generator and voltage regulators. If an additional ammeter is available it should also be possible to determine the power of the generator.

The tests are performed with the engine running at various speeds when the voltage changes occurring between idling and normal engine speeds are recorded. It is claimed that an evaluation of the curves obtained in this way will enable a judgment on the general condition of the equipment to be made.
