• All motorway service areas will remain open over the Christmas holiday except those at Watford Gap (Blue Boar) on M1 and Frankley (Granada) on M5. At Watford Gap the catering facilities will be closed from 9 p.m. on December 24 to 10 a.m. on December 26, while the filling stations will be closed from 7 a.m. on Christmas Day until 10 a.m. on the following day. At Frankley no facilities will be available between 11 p.m. on December 24 and 7 a.m. on Boxing Day.
At Strensham (Kennings) on M5 the catering facilities close at midnight on December 24 and reopen at 7 a.m. on Boxing Day, but the filling stations will remain open.
