Decisions on Conciliation Appeals

ON Wednesday evening, the National Joint Conciliation Board received the decisions of its appeals committee on the appeals of the Northern, Yorkshire, North-Western, Eastern, East Midland and South-Eastern Area Boards concerning grading for wages purposes. The question of conditions in certain areas remains unsettled.

The Commercial Motor was informed that the report was being issued to the Press for publication next Monday morning, but no reason was given for

the delay in making it known to the industry. We should have thought, in view of the fact that the provisional period expires on December 31, that the Board would have wished to have secured the maximum publicity at the earliest possible raotnent for its decisions.
