With the rapid approach of the pantomime season north-country motorbus proprietors are completing their programmes of combined bus and theatre services, which have proved so success ful in the past two winters. In this direction the United Automobile Services, Ltd., is displaying commendable enterprise, and during the next few months residents in various parts of the area covered by the company's system in Northumberland and Durham will be given facilities for visiting the leading music-halls and theatres at Newcastle and other big centres. In all cases the fares, which are extremely reasonable, include a booked seat at one of the places of amusement and passen
gore are met after the performance and conveyed back to their homes.
The company is using its latest class of saloon bus for theatre-party purposes; this type is fitted with buffet and lavatory and has comfortable wicker seats and tables.
Big Associated Daimler Business.
From the point of view of the Associated Daimler Co., Ltd., the Commercial Motor Exhibition at Olympia' Was particularly successful, and a large number of orders was placed for passenger vehicles by numerous big operating companies. The vehicles which created the most interest were Models 423 and 424, which are light, fast elaassis, built expressly for passenger work. During the actual period of the Show, orders for over 300 chassis and vehicles were placed. One of the most important was that for 100 Model 416 -vehicles for the Glasgow General Omnibus Co., Ltd., whilst others of special interest included that placed by Fairways, Ltd., of Dublin, for 15 Model 416 and 10 Model 423 vehicles, and that from the RonalHy Motor Co., Ltd., of Cardiff, for 11 Model 416 and 3 Model 423 vehicles. The names of a number of prominent users fignre in the list.
