Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

transport industry's impressive safety record, industry veteran Millard, aged 73, feels strongly that drivers' performances are being compromised by a lack of suitable rest facilities.

"Drivers aren't getting the proper rest they need," he says. "Many end up stuck in a lay-by at night, with cars roaring by every few seconds. There aren't the truckstops needed to help them get a good sleep."

And, despite his age, he believes there should be stricter medical checks on older car drivers from the age of 60 onwards.

However, a more space-age solution, Millard thinks, is for all road-going vehicles to be fitted with satellite speed control devices, which automatically restrict momentum.

"So, for example, a car will not exceed 30mph if it's in a 30mph zone. At least it would mean multi-drop drivers would never be booked for speeding again."
