• "Loaded questions (CM 6-12 Aug) refers on several occasions to RTITB and RHITSC. The article states that the "RTITB has been replaced by RHITSC" which is not the case.
RHITSC has been set up as the "lead body" for training standards in the road haulage industry and exists in its own right, but receives financial support from the successor to RTITB which is to be known as RTITB Services Limited. This will be a non-statutory organisation, a charitable trust with the shares held by previous levy payers to RTITB.
The board of RTITB Services will be elected by the shareholders, ie the industry, and will set out to offer the range of services previously offered by RTITB but on a commercial basis. Of particular importance and in support of the article, RTITB Services will do its upmost to support professional and proper training standards. We, like CM, have pressed numerous Transport Secretaries to introduce a registration scheme at least equal to that required for car driving instructors and we support your current campaign.
