the distribution industry a postman has been sacked for taking 700 days off sick over 18 years, with an average of 76 days off a year over the past five. A London industrial tribunal ruled that he was fairly dismissed: "The Post Office was right to run out of patience," it said of the reluctant postie, judged by a Royal Mail doctor to have nothing seriously wrong.
