• The licence held by George Taylor (Wolverhampton) has been revoked by West Midland LA John Mervyn Pugh, in the light of a long list of prohibition notices. The company admitted not putting vehicles through fresh MoT tests as it had promised to do.
On probation
• Eastern LA Compton Boyd has increased the licence authorisation of Roband Transport of Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex to 10 vehicles and 12 trailers for one year only. Boyd said that it was a probationary measure in the light of previous maintenance problems.
Conditions imposed • Representations from . neighbouring residents led to a series of environmental conditions being imposed when A&T Harkins, of Glasgow, was granted a licence for three vehicles and one trailer, by Scottish LA Keith Waterworth.
After hours
• CCW Transport has been ordered to pay £1,509 compensation for unfair dismissal to driver Anthony Povey. A Birmingham Industrial Tribunal said CCW Transport mistakenly believed it could compel Povey to work after 17:30hrs on 8 October and had not carried out a reasonable enquiry into the events.
