Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

of a small/medium sized commercial vehicle bodybuilding company, and feel that your comment on 6 August needs a response from a non-SMMT Code of Practise subscriber.

I would suggest that the main reason why such a large percentage of body builders have not applied for registration is one of cost. It costs money to apply, to have annual checks by BSI inspectors and for the additional administration required.

Large companies may find it easy to assimilate these extra costs but to smaller companies an extra member of staff would be necessary to co-ordinate the additional work involved.

A quality product at a competitive price is the iun of most buyers, trade and fleet, and they will determine where they purchase their bodies, kite mark or not. They will continue to support their local builders, where in most cases the owner or close associate, is the one they deal with on a daily basis, in a friendly informal manner.

Your analogy of an operator buying a truck or office equipment without a warranty would suggest that non-BSI approved bodybuilders do not give a warranty. Come off it Mr Winn, visit a few dealers and operators who buy from smaller bodybuilding companies and get their opinions before expressing such ill-considered views.
